Danish Relay and Long Distance Champs

One again I managed to get my self sick after the Danish Middle distance Champs. So the preparation before the weekend has been limited to a few short jogs.

I decided that I had to get the best out of it and still give everything I got in the races as I still might be in contention for medals.

Relay – Velling Snabegaard:
The Tisvilde Team was not as strong as it has been in recent years and we need a very good day to be able to run away with the Gold. We did a good team performance – Jesper David Jensen, Thomas Jensen and I, ended with the bronze medals in our hands. I started out 5 mins or so behind and knew that I had to put in a very good race to catch the two teams in front. Ran hard from the beginning but ½ way I had used a lot of power in the hills and the fatigue was hunting me. I finished only 2½ min of the pace of the fastest split for the day, so that gave my confidence a little boast before the Long distance.

Long Distance Linå Vesterskov:
What the Course wasn’t yesterday it was today. A great course around a great forest. Unfortunately I felt a little worse this morning. The opportunity for a race in this terrain was not something I wanted to miss. After getting started I felt better than I feared and was able to keep a good pace on the paths, though the fun ended when I had to move the legs in the terrain.

Did a few mistakes but nothing more than 30 sec on any controls, but faded during the second half of the course and can only be happy with my 5′th place under the circumstances around 5 mns behind Rasmus Djurhus who won. He might have had a little extra power in the legs as we didn’t ran yesterday as his team mates mispunched but then we might not have got the Bronze.. so is life.
